The HART Server is a MS-windows software module that provides a standard OPC communications interface with HART capable instrumentation. End-users and system integrators will appreciate the large number of supported devices and I/O systems. I/O and systems manufacturers will appreciate how easy it is to integrate the server with their products. For everyone, whether on the plant floor, the maintenance shop, in the control
room or back at the factory, the HART Server is ideally suited to the task of providing a standardized, easy to develop and use interface to HART instrumentation. Installing HART field devices is simple; the HART Server makes it equally simple to use the data, including the inherent intelligence of HART instrumentation!
The HART Server provides the industry standard method for accessing the wealth of real time process and diagnostic information available in HART field instrumentation. HART-capable instruments can be directly connected to the PC serial port through commonly available RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces. Systems of HART devices can be connected
through HART-capable multiplexers and I/O systems using the large library of supported device drivers. The HART Server also makes it possible to use the "smart" instrument information and process data in the control room for more advanced management strategies. And, of course, OPC client applications open a wide range of opportunity for improved operations.
